A Brief Look Back and Then Onward

Good morning

With the final days of 2018 winding down, it is only logical to take a look back at 2018 and ahead to 2019.

Looking back at 2018, it was a year of challenges for me and also a year of growth. I lost the two most important people in my life, relocated back to the Northeast and welcomed back a familiar space. Through the challenges, I have grown in my faith and learned to trust in a power far greater than I possess. All said, I am happy to be done with 2018.

Looking ahead to 2019, I am excited to take on the challenges of No Finish Line Fitness and any other challenges put in front of me. Right off the bat, we will be opening the doors to our NFLF Fitness Center in Dover. While we will continue to provide the best coaching for runners, professional gait analysis and other running services, we have expanded our business model to include strength and mobility personal and group training. We will have multiple ACE certified personal trainers, and one of the few TRX certified trainers on the Seacoast. Pretty exciting stuff!

Based on the challenges of 2018, both personally and professionally, I definitely have some goals for myself and our newly remodeled NFLF.

Personally, I do not want to settle for comfortable. When I left the military over 2 years ago, I allowed for myself to believe it was time to relax and settle in. I soon found I settled into accepting status quo with myself. Life took me on a rollercoaster ride and I learned a valuable lesson in importance of continuing to grow as a person, both educationally and spiritually. I look forward to continuing that journey on both levels. My faith will continue to be at the core of who I am, as well as my desire to help people from all walks of life improve their health and wellness.

Physically, I have some work to do on myself. 2018 was not my best year for consistency with my running and strength training, as well as my nutritional habits. Getting back to a good place with my running will require discipline outside of my running shoes. My strength training needs to be more specific to my physical challenges and losing a few pounds will also benefit my running. Just as I tell all those I train, the good thing is; I have much control over my physical conditioning, so it is all on me.

2019 is going to be a spectacular year! God has blessed me abundantly in so many ways, so my goal (or resolution) is to be as much of a blessing to others as I can be.

Every Friday at the NFLF Fitness Center is free workout Friday (sign up at info@nofinishlinefitness.com) AND free Coffee Friday. Come on by and get your free workout, or just grab a cup of fresh coffee! I look forward too many great chats over the best coffee around! Goodbye 2018 and hello 2019!

God Bless and Happy New Year!
