A twist to my easy run

Yesterday I decided to mix in some strength training with my easy run, so I ran 6 miles, stopping every mile to do 25 push-ups. Once again the humidity level was close to 90 percent, so that was fun. My first mile was great and the push-ups were easy. As I ran mile 2 it took a bit to get back in the flow I had going in mile one, but eventually I did. I felt as if I was landing on my mid foot more often than not, so that was a good thing. I finished mile 2 and dropped down on the sidewalk and did another 25 push-ups. Similar to mile 2, it took about a tenth of a mile to recover and get back in the flow of my run. As I progressed my shoulders were getting a little tight, but nothing too bad.
I was supposed to have run 5 miles, but instead I ran 6 as I felt like I needed to. After completing my sixth mile I got down and did 30 push-ups giving me a total of 155 push-ups. I have to say I was pleased as I am a big proponent of push-ups and how much they help my core. It also was something to make my easy run a bit more challenging without taxing my legs.
My hips weren’t an issue during the run, however they continue to burn a great deal at night. I will have to check in with my doctor when I return and may ask for a shot. In any event, I am enjoying the challenges of running here!
