Afternoon coffee

Hi Everyone, Because of the snow I am writing my Wednesday blog much later, but I am having a cup of pumpkin spice coffee! This past Monday we wrapped up our 30 day gait analysis event and I was pleased with how well it went. If you read the NFLR newsletter this past Sunday you got an in depth wrap up, but I will share with you a little of what we experienced. Right from the beginning it was quite apparent that no one actually runs the same as they think they run. Everyone was quite surprised where their landing point was and how little swing they had in their legs. Both of these are important as far as running efficiency, performance and healthy running. I spent much of the time showing people their running gait, showing them an example of a running gait and giving practical exercises and drills that can help change their running gait. This free gait analysis was intended to be more of a brief analysis with some practical information but we couldn't help ourselves and most of them extended to over an hour with much more detail. Everyone was quite generous and it would be easy to say we wanted to give them their moneys worth, but in truth, we are in business to help runners and limiting our help is impossible. In fact I have quite a few written analysis that I have to do and email out to those that participated. Back when we started with gait analysis we knew that the first challenge was how to get the word out to the Dover, Portsmouth and all New Hampshire runners? Knowing that one of our goals for NFLR was to be active with charity events, the idea of using gait analysis to help a charity while promoting the system made great sense! I am thrilled to say that we raised nearly $500.00 for the Krempels Center, that will benefit those that suffer with a brain trauma. While $500.00 is not going to change the world, we are grateful for all of the great people that contributed without any expectation. The generosity was not surprising to me, but I believe each runner felt like they gained a tremendous amount of insight into their running as well as some specific help, so their donations were also a reflection of that. Now we will spend a few weeks relaxing and enjoying this wonderful time of the year. We look forward to this resource of gait analysis, that we can offer runners from Dover, Portsmouth and all over the seacoast of New Hampshire. This last 30 days has shown many people that what they believe they know about their running versus how they actually run is quite conflicted. It was even difficult at times to witness the disappointment people had with what they saw, but once we worked on some corrective actions they seemed quite excited at their potential! Understanding that through some repeated drills and exercises they can run healthier and even faster, most were pumped to put their instruction into action! As we move forward with gait analysis we will offer basic analysis and an in depth analysis. Some don't need much more than a few videos and some direction while others are looking to look at things from every angle. If you didn't get in on this event that's okay, but I can almost guarantee you that you will be pleased with investing in a gait analysis. Drop us an email at info@nofinishlinerunning.com or contact us through the website for an appointment. The winter is a great time to get your running tuned up and gait analysis is the best place to start! If you are still need a great gift, you can email us as well and we will send you a gift certificate that can be used for any of our services. In fact we will give you the first $25.00 free, so you can get $50.00 for $25! What a deal. I have been playing Santa Clause by giving out $25.00 gift certificates so if you want one of those email me your address before Christmas and if you aren't naughty I will mail you this gift! Well my coffee cup so I will say good day! Have a great night and see you for some quick intervals on Friday! MIke
