Good morning!
Things at No Finish Line Running have been crazy as of late for various reasons. Many of the coaches ran “Reach the Beach”, others held down the fort for our “White Mountain Miler’s” training group and all of us have been focusing on October 1st “Apple Harvest 5K” for which we are managing. You would think that all of that activity would be more than enough for us but, we have yet another huge announcement! In October we will be moving out of our Dover location and partnering with Dr. Carrie Jose in her new Portsmouth location. While our Dover Center has been a wonderful first step in providing running resources to runners of all levels, we have long wanted to broaden our ability to provide runners with resources outside of our reach. Having a partnership with Carrie enables us to insure our runners have a knowledgeable health professions from which to address not only injuries but more importantly preventive measures. Carrie has been a great friend and resource to “NFLR” for a couple years now and we have been seeking ways to align our businesses in hopes to build the ultimate running resource opportunity. Dr. Jose is opening a new center that will have the ability to conduct classes such as Pilates, yoga, injury prevention and much more. Moving into this space allows “NFLR” to continue to offer state of the art running for analysis (gait analysis), as well as the other running resources we feel so strongly about. Teaming with Carrie opens so many opportunities for both of our desires, which is to help runners, run strong and healthy.
While we are moving our resource operations to Portsmouth, we will continue to maintain our training groups and business management in Dover. Over the past year we have become good friends with Jason Hendrickson, owner of the “Penny University Coffee House” right across the way of our current location in Dover and because of this relationship we will move there for our group training meeting place. While there will be some adjustments, we are confident that the adjustments will be minor compared to the opportunities that our partnership with Dr. Jose provides us. Also our coaches and training groups have come to think of “Penny U” as our “go to” place, so it is the perfect fit!
I am never ceased to be amazed at how opportunities present themselves and this is a prime example of our good fortune. “NFLR” continues to grow and become a fixture on the Seacoast and with this move we will open even more opportunities to offer runners a place to run health, strong and efficient. I could not be more excited about this partnership and I am certain it will benefit many more runners.
If you have not signed up for the 2016 “Apple Harvest 5K”, get signed up today! This race has been one of the best fall races and “NFLR” has now made it better! This year the top 3 in every age group will receive a custom designed beer glass as well as a gift certificate from Runners Alley or Penny University. The overall male and female winners will each receive $200.00 as well! Finally all that take their bibs over to the Penny U. booth at Apple Harvest will get a free cup of the best coffee on the Seacoast. Great prizes for runners and a lot of fun for all. I am so excited to be a part of this race and look forward to a long term partnership with Apple Harvest.
By the way; do you know what they have found in whales that are beached? Straws! My new goal is to get people to decline straws when they go out and maybe we can save some whales. Ask my coaches about it. The other night I took them out of all of their glasses when we were celebrating “Reach the Beach” at Margareta’s. They all laughed at what seemed silly but I am determined to care and convince others that they should! Help me out!
I will be running the “Seacoast Cancer 5K” Sunday with the “NFLR” team and so I hope to see a lot of you there. I really hope to see a lot of you at the “Apple Harvest 5K” October 1st! Have a great weekend and see you on the roads!
God Bless!
Mike
