Good Afternoon.
Our Marketing department has challenged me to start trying new recipes and sharing my all important thoughts. Today is an easy one as I am starting out with my go-to post-workout protein shake. This particular shake is my most basic, but often I add ingredients based on what is available to me.
After a tough workout, protein is a great source for muscle repair and continued caloric burn. It is important to note that additional protein is not always necessary, as the workout may not dictate a need for additional protein. Too much protein will only result in unnecessary calories.
Pictured are the ingredients of my go-to shake.
Nutrition facts and measurements
1 Cup of skim milk - 130 calories - 8g of protein
1 Table Spoon of Organic Peanut Butter - 95 calories - 4g protein
! Table Spoon of Flaxseed Meal - 45 calories - 1.5g protein
1 Scoop (2.5 Tbsp) of Organic Whey Protein - 100 calories - 20g of protein
1/2 Cup of Organic Fruit - 45 calories - 1/2g of protein
The result is a delicious shake that gives me all the protein in need for an effective post-exercise recovery. As you can see I like going organic, but whatever works for you is fine. I use a Nutrabullet which works great for me. I often make my shake before my workout and take it to the Center with me. Pretty easy and convenient.
