Coffee and Chat with the Coach

Good morning! After a 4 day weekend it is time to go back to work. The timing of having a few days off could not have been better as we finished up our training group and were able to celebrate Veterans Day with a relaxing round of golf. Yesterday was incredible weather wise and able to get a nice 4 mile run in dressed like it was summer! Looking ahead at the temperatures here in New Hampshire, we are certainly in for some cold days, but barring any snow, I am okay with lower temps. The next week or so will be busy as ever as we prepare for the "No Finish Line Running" Winter Running group. This will be a great opportunity and lots of fun for those that want to band together in Dover and enjoy the challenges of running through the winter. We have a few details to finalize but the plan is to meet at the parking lot down at 1 Washington Place at 6pm Tuesday nights and run various, finish up back at the same location and then stop into a local pub. Saturday's we will meet up at Juicy Roots on 2nd street at 8:30 and go for a longer run that will bring us back there. There will be a training plan available for both winter maintenance and training for the Half at the Hamptons. Both the plans will be accessible electronically and to print out. Not totally sure what the numbers will look like, but we have had a few people show interest, but we never know until we get a few weeks in. I will tell you this; it will be a lot of fun and a great way to stay motivated with your running through the winter! The small financial investment in yourself will be well worth it and comes back with a money back guarantee! Let me know if you have any questions. A few weeks ago NFLR took on a new client that has some super goals for 2015 and we are excited to be able to work with Nicole Powell. Nicole was a past member of a Runners Alley training group and was an exceptional runner. Besides helping Nicole to achieve all of her goals the really cool thing about working with Nicole is that she lives in Istanbul Turkey! Because NFLR has lots of great online tools, training long distance not much different than training someone locally. Our interactive training plans, log and other resources keep us fully engaged with our runners no matter whether you are a few miles away or a few thousand! I am excited to be working with Nicole! So what did you have for breakfast? This morning I had 2 slices of pumpkin bread (from Tendercrop Farm), 2 hardboiled eggs and Greek Yogurt with a drizzle of honey. Probably should have only had one slice of the pumpkin bread, but it goes so well with coffee! I am hopeful of dropping about 12 pounds over the next few months so you all will be part of my accountability from time to time. Lately I have been too many bread type meals so that has to stop. Losing weight is never easy but I understand what I need to do, so now I have to follow through. My breakfast would have been perfect had it not been for the pumpkin bread (anything pumpkin is my weakness). Time to get along. Have a great Wednesday and start planning for the NFLR Winter Running training group! Mike
