Exciting New Stuff!

Good morning! I have an amazing cup of organic cup of coffee and hope you have amazing cup of your favorite as well! Pull up a comfortable chair. Last week I rolled out a training tool program that is in its infancy but will give our coaches a valuable tool to develop training plans. NFLR has stressed from day one the importance of individual “personal training plans” and now we will have a tool to further help build an individual specific, yet data based training plan. I have long wanted to take our educated approach to building an individual training plan, combine it with our philosophy and experience and create a formula based program that would insure consistent and specific training for our runners. We now have the initial iteration of a data based program that our coaches can take runner unique information and their data and design a perfect training plan. When I say the “initial iteration” that is because much like everything we do at NFLR, this will continuously evolve as we learn more about what will improve the ultimate goal of building the perfect running plan. We stress the importance of “intelligent training” and having tools that our coaches can use to create plans that fit our strict yet unique training plan development process will be great for not only our coaches but, also our runners. Pretty cool addition to NFLR! Another new addition that is coming in the very near future will be our newly designed and functionally improved NFLR website. Our very first website was built by coach/daughter Jennifer Miller a bunch of years ago and then replaced by a professionally functional site built by Doug Mackinnon. Over a year ago we contracted professional website designer to redesign our site and since then Doug has been working to further develop the functionality that we wanted to combine with the new design. Doug has felt the constant pressure from myself (and others) to roll out the newly designed site. However, he has been meticulously building the new site with considerable consideration to the details that will most benefit our runners and those that come to the NFLR for running assistance. Such improvements as smart phone compatibility for the site as well as our training plans and training logs will be a huge addition that make great sense in today’s world. Other changes and improvements will continue to set us apart from websites that have some bells and whistles but lack real substance or value to runners. Like our new training tool, the “initial iteration” will be exciting and cool but, the continued upgrades to our programs as well as new additions that we have planned, will be constant and equally awesome! I promise to not over use the word “iteration” as well! Looking forward to the new website very soon. Right Doug! Last week another of our new team members; Julie Butterfield completed the “Road Runners Club of America” coaching certification course. Julie has been a part of our team for a few months now and will work with our groups as well as our Pilates program. When she is not working with NFLR she is the owner of Berry Bog blueberry farm in Center Strafford New Hampshire. Julie is the perfect fit for our team, combining her friendly demeanor with a passionate yet “real” approach to running. This Wednesday I am going to share a piece she wrote in my morning and chat so you can get to know Julie a little better. Once Julie has passed the certification test, she will increase our team of certified running coaches to 4 with 4 more scheduled to take the certification course next month. All said we will have the largest team of certified running coaches in North America. Another friend took the course last week as well and we are hoping to bring him to the team as well. Pretty awesome to build an NFLR team that is not only professionally trained but, fits our concept of “great people!” NFLR is certainly growing and doing some great stuff! We continue to develop professional coaches and programs that we combine with our personal approach that equal the best possible experience, along with the best chance for success for our groups and individual runners. Really exciting for me and our entire team! Have a great Sunday! God Bless and Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there! Mike
