Friday Coffee and Chat

Good morning and thanks for stopping in to have coffee with me. One week into the new year and it seems as if 2015 is already a distant memory! Off and running in multiple directions and much like 2015 that means multiple locations across the country and even a stop outside the country. Next week I am back in Washington DC for a month and then followed by a week in El Salvador and then my final trip for the Air National Guard will take me to Texas for a week. After all of that I will finish out my time here in New Hampshire before retiring in late April. While I am all over the place, No Finish Line Running will be busy and thriving. We are in the midst of our winter running group and still welcome anyone that wants to run on either Wednesday or Saturday mornings or better yet both! Soon we will finalize our spring training group plans, followed by summer and then our return to North Conway for our “2016 NFLR Destination” event! Cooperate training groups are also on the calendar with “Stone Wall Kitchen” people eager to have NFLR work with them for a third year. We are entertaining the idea of reaching out to other corporations but, we need to make sure we have the resources to support all that we take on. We absolutely enjoy all the various opportunities that are out there to bring our experience and knowledge to but, we will not sacrifice quality for quantity or profit. No Finish Line Running is now firmly the top resource on the seacoast of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts for group, corporate, individual training and running form analysis. We have a team of coaches that not only have technical expertise but, also a tremendous amount of experience. We will continue to grow and develop our team so that we can bring the seacoast and beyond our running services. As I chat with you we are continuously developing our information technology system to improve our ability to serve groups and individual runners. Just the other night I met with a woman who signed up for the “Half at the Hamptons” and she is struggling with her commitment to her training. I knew once I shared with her our online resources she would be sold on our help. I was correct and it took all of 30 seconds for her to say: “That is exactly what I need!” There is very little in the way of salesmanship that we need to do at NFLR. Our resources that we have worked hard to devise on our website combined with our team of professional coaches make it easy for anyone interested in help with their running. Being a running coach is what I do best. I continuously seek out education and technology that will enable be to lead the NFLR team. However, I also like the challenges of operating a business that creates the optimal way to train all levels of runners as well as how to market it. Some parts I am very good at while other aspects I continue to learn much about. I am definitely learning that there are some aspects that I need to depend on others for! While it is all very enjoyable for me, it is also a business and that requires me to think from a business prospective more often than I might like. In the end we are developing a running resource business at NFLR and it is certainly an exciting time! Bring on 2016! Have a great weekend! God Bless! Mike
