Friday Morning Intervals

Good morning! Fill up a mug and pull up a chair. Happy Friday and I am sure if you are like me, you are pleased! Beautiful weekend ahead is always a good thing. Hope you have plans to be out enjoying the sunshine. If you are looking for a group run, come on over to the NFLR Center in Dover tomorrow at 8:30 and enjoy a community of people that will accommodate all levels of runners. We are in between our winter and summer training groups but, we will continue to meet Wednesday’s and Saturday’s and all are welcome! This past Wednesday night we met from the “7th Settlement Brewery” as usual but this time we went up to 4th street in Dover and ran on the community trail. It is highly unlikely that you know of this particular trail as it is somewhat obscure at this point but, it is a great trail most of the time. Unfortunately we had to turn around sooner than planned as it got a little muddy from the rain we had earlier in the week. Nevertheless it was a lot of fun and after we got back on Fourth Street we made our way over to the more well-known Dover Community trail that is paved and then made our way back by way of the trail that runs under Chestnut Street and comes out on Central Ave. All said we ran 3.5 miles and had a great time! Getting really excited about our “Beginner Running 101” seminar coming up April 23 at the NFLR Center. This free event is going to be a great thing for new runners and even not so new runners that want to learn some basics about running, stretching, strengthening and nutrition for runners. We have a team of experienced folks that will speak on each topic and then there will be an opportunity to chat with each person one on one. Of course there will be coffee and snacks so if you know anyone that would like to find out more about running basics, encourage them to go to www.nofinishlinerunning.com and sign up! April 30th we will begin our “No Finish Line Running Community Spring/Summer” training groups for beginners and intermediate level runners. Having multiple coaches that will be able to work with beginners up to intermediate runners is so beneficial and allows for people to progress at their particular pace. Having beginner to intermediate runners together is also very nice because of the community aspect of our groups. Meeting up twice a week becomes such a wonderful experience and the friendships made are so cool. Truly a community experience that we at NFLR enjoy. For more information about the “NFLR Community Spring/Summer” training group contact us at info@nofinishlinerunning.come or at www.nofinishlinerunning.com. This group will be lots of fun! Unfortunately the calf muscle that I injured last Sunday running “Reds” is not going to go away without some TLC. The TLC part will require some downtime from running and that kind of stinks but, I want to enjoy a season of running, so I will be patient and smart. Injuries have certainly been a nemesis for me the past couple of years and it would be easy to get frustrated. However, that would not serve any value so instead I will continue to work through the injuries appropriately and stay positive. I am certain I have lots of good running ahead of me this year! Time to head out. Have a great day and a super weekend. I won’t see you on the roads but, enjoy them! God Bless! Mike
