Friday Quick Intervals

Great run yesterday morning! The world was peaceful and wind was minimal. Mark your calendars, Sunday the 28th will be my “Year in Review.” 2014 was an interesting year for NFLR, and a challenging year for “the coach.” Don’t miss it! Runners knee seem to be the injury of choice lately. Okay, maybe not so much a choice, but definitely a common injury amongst our runners. Next week I will talk about it and how to combat this annoying injury that even yours truly has dealt with recently. My standup workstation was a great investment in my health and in my running. Foam rolling is a must for all runners and many runners invest in foam rollers. However, most runners don’t foam roll enough. Had a couple of hard ciders on Wednesday night with client and friend Art Hochthurn. Nice to slow it down and take the time during this busy time of the year. Art is typical of many of my runners in that we usually become friends. Art is a triathlete and he is a lot of fun to work with, but he's also a great friend now. Can't wait to we can get back on the golf course! Thanks for your friendship Art! Six shopping days until Christmas! If you need a last second gift for that runner in your life, contact mike@nofinishlinerunning and I will send you gift certificate for a Running Form Analysis. The regular running form analysis is $100.00, but because it is Christmas and I’m definitely a Christmas guy, we will give you one for half the price! If you are in a crunch time wise, I will even email you the certificate. No need to thank me, it’s Christmas! Come run with us tomorrow from Juicy Roots in Dover! We will help you run through the winter and also get ready for “Reds Shoe Barn” 5 miler. We meet at 8:30 and we pretty much have every level of runner so there’s a fit for everyone! This morning is another tradition I am involved with at the base. Myself and a couple others began serving a Christmas breakfast about 10 years ago to our squadron of nearly 45 people and while I am the last of the original, the tradition continues. My specialty is Belgium waffles and that’s what I have been making for the past 10 years. It is a lot of fun to have everyone come together and enjoy a couple of hours of holiday cheer. Well time to get slow it down and move along. Hope you didn’t spill any coffee this morning and more importantly I hope you are enjoying this Christmas season! Talk to you soon! God Bless! Mike
