Friday's Quick Intervals
Friday, December 20, 2013 · Mike Davis
Friday! Good morning friends and runners! How was your running? I am on a break from running letting my muscles and joints get some recovery. Kathy and I briefly talked about how we miss running when we're not running. However, some time off is a good thing for body and mind. This past Monday we had another of our NFLR website meetings with Doug and Katie our advisors and IT friends. We spent over 2 hours discussing the website and what we can do to provide additional resources to runners. Some of what we discussed will be rolled out over the next month, while other ideas will take some time. We all enjoy talking about running and resources so this is one meeting that is very enjoyable. Coming from a guy who hates meetings, that is an amazing statement! In early 2014 you will see such new pages as a "Resources for Runners" page, a comments option for the blog and a new blog written by a guest writer. Further into the new year we would like to roll out a members sign up where you will have some nice options such as a log calendar. There's more, but we'll wait until it's more than conceptual before mentioning it. Over the past 5 years NFLR has grown from a do it yourself website to a professionally designed and produced website. While our roots are something I'm proud of, I really enjoy the team we have now and how much knowledge and expertise they bring to all aspects of the business. Katie Mack has been behind much of our website accomplishments since day one and the past 2 years her finance has taken the website to greater things with his IT background. They are a great team and we are fortunate to have them as a part of our team. Our immediate goal at NFLR is to support the runners in Dover, Portsmouth, Rochester, Newcastle and all over the Seacoast of New Hampshire and having a strong website makes this possible. As we progress we want NFLR to be a resource for runners outside of the local area as well and with the help of Doug and Katie we should easily get there. By the way Katie has just started working for the Dover Chamber of commerce. Look for some NFLR relationship there! Lots of great races on New Years day and Sammy the Seagulls 5K looks like a good time. Check out the information at: http://running4free.com/RaceDetails.aspx?raceid=127. Always lots of laughs running on New Years day! How is your Christmas shopping going? Don't forget you can get an additional $25.00 added to any gift certificate from NFLR. Give a friend a gift certificate that will benefit their running and that will truly make a difference in their fitness. Christmas is also the deadline to take advantage of the free $25.00 gift certificates I'm sending out. Email us at info@nofinishlinerunning.com. Time to go workout! Less than exciting intervals this morning, sorry. Have a great Friday! Mike
