Friday's Quick Intervals

Good morning! Let’s grab our coffee and get ready for some lactic threshold paced intervals! Another popular half marathon this weekend down at Wallis Sands and like most half marathons it is full up! I will be working but there will be a few No Finish Line Runners running. Go get’m! Next Thursday night we will be running a group trail run on the Isinglass trails so if you are interested let us know and we will pass on the details. Most likely it will start between 5:30 and 6 with a run of 3 to 5 miles. The trail is in pretty good shape and not overly difficult. Will be lots of fun! NFLR may be organizing group runs on a regular basis, so if you are interested please let us know! Good news, Kathy and I sold our house! We will be moving to downtown Dover so our location won’t change much. Will be fun to run from a different starting point. No plans for me or No Finish Line Running to go away so don’t start any rumors. On the running front, yours truly has gotten in 3 runs this week without any problems with my calf! Yesterday’s run was amazing thanks to the sun coming out and the winds being somewhat calmer. Seems like it has been forever since I have run through the streets of Dover and that felt great! Working on a new resource for NFLR that goes hand and hand with running. As we work out the details I will share more information. Always good to tease a little.  Working this weekend so it will not be as enjoyable for me as y’all. Public Service reminder: Sunscreen!! If you are still doing traditional static stretching prior to a run, you are not helping your run. Dynamic stretching prior to your run to include: walking lunges, knee folds, jump rope or even easy running. Save the static stretching to after your run! Do you have a favorite dynamic routine? Children’s Museum run this weekend. Never have been able to run this race because it has always fallen on my drill weekend. Popular for many reasons, but being part of the “Seacoast Series” insures huge participation. The “Seacoast Series” is a tremendous idea and has brought a lot of people to running throughout the spring, summer and fall. Now that I am done with my intervals, it is time for some strength training. Thanks for running along with me and have a great weekend! Mike
