Friday's Quick Intervals

Good morning Runners! For some (such as me), Memorial Day weekend can now begin! Looks like a great weekend here on the Seacoast New Hampshire, so let’s get moving with our “Quick Intervals!” Redhook 5K is sold out, but if you still want to run this staple race in Portsmouth, there are spots in the 100 club. That will cost you a bit more, but you get a few nice perks and remember the proceeds go to charity. Otherwise come out and cheer on the runners! Runners Alley Portsmouth will be offering an advance 10K training group for those that have run a 10K, but want to improve their time. Yours truly along with Kathy Davis will conduct a six week training group that will spend one night a week at the track and another night adding a little push to a longer run as we help runners pick up the pace. Contact Runners Alley Portsmouth for the details. This is any runner that is capable of running 4 miles and speed is relative to your needs. Should be fun so come on out! Tough week for the running coach as I have been dealing with a painful back! Not the result of running, but most likely to much sitting. Hoping to be ready for running by next week. Great meeting with our webmaster last night and hopefully you will see some noticeable changes to the No Finish Line Running website as well as some minor improvements. We constantly strive to develop a website that is not full of useless bells and whistles, but one that benefits all levels of runners. We also consider our clients and how to best serve them. We believe that our future resources page will a valuable tool that helps everyone. More to come. Can’t guarantee you a spot on a Reach the Beach (RTB) team, but if you are looking for a team leave a comment or let us know and we may be able to help you find a team. Lots of fun! One last interval: This weekend or Monday in particular we celebrate those that serve and have served our country. Having been a member of the military for over 31 years, I understand all too well the sacrifices that are made, with some having given the ultimate sacrifice of their life. I am honored to have serve, but I also honored to have been a husband of a career military soldier. I hope all of you take a moment this long weekend to remember those that have helped to protect and serve our great nation. I am truly grateful to those that came before me, those that are across the world and for those that will come after me. May God bless our soldiers! Have a great weekend! Mike
