Friday's Quick Intervals
Friday, October 17, 2014 · Mike Davis
Good morning! It is Friday and you know the routine; grab a cup of coffee, hold it tight and hit some quick intervals! Let's roll. Tomorrow our Runners Alley Portsmouth training group runs for 2 hours and for many if not all this time and distance will be another personal record! The group is fun to watch as they embrace the tremendous accomplishment that they are in the midst of. This Sunday will be the 6th Annual Pease Relay race. While closed to the general public this is race is definitely my pride and joy. Having been one of the founders as well as the race director from day one, I am overjoyed that survived for 6 years, but has thrived. We put on a race that is intended to promote camaraderie, pride, fitness and fun for them members of the military and their families. Each year is always a challenge because of the various deployments and other military activities we have to work around. Despite those challenges we have average well over 150 participants! Truly a wonderful event and one that I am proud of. I am excited about the response I am getting for a winter running group here in Dover. Based on the early interest I believe we will have a nice group to help encourage winter running. We will finalize the details next week and get out the particulars soon. Start getting your winter gear ready! Haven't mentioned it lately, but the York Stonewall Kitchen training group is going great! This small group from Stonewall Kitchen over in York Maine are meeting Monday and Wednesday night mostly with No Finish Line Running coach Lew Ricker and they are loving it! I was with them this past Monday putting them through a track workout and I could not believe their amazing attitudes and determination. The track is always a challenge and this group may not act excited, but they definitely rise to the challenge. Lew has done a really nice job with them and has a great future as a coach. While the bulk of the running season is winding down, the business at No Finish Line Running is picking up! This has kind of been the trend over the past few years and it definitely changes our business model some as we thought we would focus more on individual gait analysis during the winter, but instead we will be active with clients and gait analysis. Good stuff! Hopefully you didn't spill any coffee while hitting the intervals with me, but thanks for joining me! Have a great Saturday and see you some time on Sunday! God Bless! Mike
