Friday's Quick Intervals
Friday, February 27, 2015 · Mike Davis
Good morning! Friday, Friday, Friday! Isn’t it awesome that it is Friday! Since it is Friday we will hit some quick intervals and then attack the day. Grab your mug and let’s get moving. Hope to see some of you this Sunday down at Pease for the Beer Run event. The event is hosted by Runners Alley and will kick off at 10am with a short run on the Tradeport and then followed by a movie about the guys that started the Beer Run series. There will be food and prizes with all proceeds going toward the PANMASS Challenge which is an awesome charity. Some come join me down at Red Hook Brewery. You can find out more at: http://runnersalley.com/ Been a great week for me personally. Sunday I struggled through a 50 minute, 5 plus miles run, Monday a nice strength training early by myself at the center, Tuesday an awesome group run of the Red’s Shoe Barn 5 miler course, Wednesday morning I participated in our first morning Pilates class and yesterday I got out there early and ran for 50 minutes. Couple all of that with a diet of mostly organic choices and I feel pretty darn good about the week! I am in no way close to peek shape but instead of struggling to get winter over I am trying to end winter on strong! As I mentioned, we had our first 6:30am Pilate’s class on Wednesday and you need to make that class a priority. What an awesome way to start the day and that counts for a day of strength training so the benefits are multiple. We will be at the center with coffee brewing at 6am with Pilate’s starting at 6:30 every Wednesday so come join me. What’s for breakfast this morning? Me; spinach, peanut butter, apple, Greek yogurt, Maca powder, Vega One protein powder, flax and a splash of vinegar. Truly a great breakfast that is fully organic and mixed together is very tasty. I will get hungry in a few hours and I will grab a handful of nuts to hold me over till lunch. Have to get ready for shorts season! Tonight (5:30) at “The Center” we will be having a drop in circuit class for runners or just those that want to get a strength and core workout in before the weekend. The structure is such that you can show up any time between 5:30 and 6:15 and we will start you through the circuit. This is a great opportunity to prepare yourself for running and also burn some calories. Drop in is only $5.00 so come on by and get it done before getting into the weekend. Beginning to develop a No Finish Line Running spring/ summer training group. The plan is to have a training group that starts in April, trains for multiple races to include 5 and 10K distances. More details will be forth coming so start thinking about joining in. Time to finish up and tackle Friday. Hope to see many of you sometime either tonight, tomorrow or Sunday. Have a great Friday! God Bless! Mike
