It's time a year again!

Good morning Runners! Today will certainly be an interesting one here in the Northeast. Hopefully you are safely where you want to be for Thanksgiving or will be able to get there tomorrow. While I only plan to travel a couple hours tomorrow, I am hoping that want be eventful or difficult. We are signed up to run the first Dover Turkey Trot, but I guess there's a possibility that might be postponed or canceled. Crazy! Speaking of crazy, last night was comfortable short running weather for our No Finish Line Running Winter Running Group! We had a great time tackling Henry Law hill in Dover and then running some of the quietest parts of Dover out on Middle road and down Court street. Great night to run and it was great to have a varied group of runners that allowed everyone to pick a comfortable pace. Thankfully Andrew Cramb offered to help so he has been leading the pack of the faster runners, leaving myself and Lew to enjoy the others. We aren't trying to model ourselves after Planet Fitness, but we most definitely want people to feel no judgment or pressure to go a particular speed or distance. While we like having all levels of runners join us it is also challenging to spread ourselves out, thankfully people are finding running partners and making friends. Lots of fun really and if you are thinking about winter running, come on out on Saturday to Juicy Roots in Dover at 8:30 and join us! We are having a great time and come Saturday you will be ready to burn off your Thanksgiving calories! In the coming days Rob Levy at the Portsmouth Herald will be using an edited version of my blog piece on "quiet feet" in his running column. Rob is a great runner and an even better writer so it is a great honor to have him publish some of my pieces. It will be available through Seacoast Online as well, so that's pretty cool as well. For most you regulars to "Coffee and Chat with the Coach", the story will be old news, but hey, you can brag to your friends that you read the original! Just let Roy out to go pee, and it seems kind of nice, so I'm thinking that I should go run a few miles before things get bad. With that plan, I would like to wish all my friends and fellow runners a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! I have so much to be thankful for and I hope the same holds true for all of you. I know I take much for granted and tomorrow is hopefully a day that I will take ample time to focus on all I have to be thankful for! One other note about tomorrow; November 27th is also a day to be thankful for my 15th year of being married to Kathleen Davis! Truly a day to be thankful for! Love you Kathleen! Be safe! Mike
