Good morning!
Been offline for a few days, as I have been bouncing around helping my in laws look at property in North Carolina. Certainly, a big difference in the weather between North Carolina and New Hampshire!
Once again, I must get myself back on track with my running and strength training. It is not necessarily because of my location that I get off my training routine, but more because of my laziness. Whether I am in NC or NH, I have all I need to run or workout, and so it is totally on me to make it happen. Today I will get over to Planet Fitness and do some strength training and then tonight, I will get my run in with our NFLR training group. Tomorrow, I will hit the pavement with Doug, and then Friday, I will be back at PF for my strength training. Sounds like a good plan and I need it both physically as well as mentally!
Did an interview for the magazine, “Seacoast Scene” on Monday and should be in the bins around the Seacoast come Thursday. The article was about using resistance bands for strength training, particularly for runners. Most definitely, resistance bands (or tubes) are a great tool for strength training and offer many benefits that free weights cannot. One benefit in particular that I think is great for runners, is the ability to utilize the resistance bands for improved range of motion, while also strengthening the muscles. Free weights are primarily used to build muscle, and while that is helpful, range of motion (ROM), is also important for our running. Check out the magazine and if you want some help with a strength training program that includes resistance bands, contact us info@nofinishlinerunning.com.
Next Wednesday night (6pm), NFLR will be out at the Dover high school track for a workout. If you want to learn about intervals, or just get a great workout in, come join us. We have a lot of fun and the more runners the better! For more information, leave your question below in the comments box. The track is a great tool for runners!
Time for me to get along and get ready for the gym. Have a great finish to your week!
God Bless!
Mike
