Good Day! Already we are mid-week! The days certainly don’t slow down and with the Pease Relay in the rearview mirror now we immediately turn to the “White Mountain Milers Half Marathon.” This weekend a group of us will be up in North Conway Saturday night enjoying a pre-race dinner that will be followed the next morning with the destination race that we have been focusing on for the past few months. Some will run the 13.1 while others are teaming up as relay partners. No matter the distance we will all have a lot of fun! The fact that we will all be up there the night before is really cool and most of us will be at the Hampton Inn thanks to a great group rate! When our last runner (probably me) crosses the finish line this Sunday that will be the final NFLR group race for the year. The year started out with Reds Shoe Barn Race for a Better Community, followed by the York Days 5K, then Saunders 10K and finally our destination race training. Great year of training groups and lots of NFLR shirts out on the courses! I am so proud of our coaches and those that trained with us. So many great runs with so many amazing people. While we may be done races as a group for the year, we certainly are not done as far as training groups. We will continue running right through the winter with our Wednesday night and Saturday morning training group. This group is officially starting up the second Saturday November 21st at 8:30 but, since we are already running those days, anyone is welcome to join in now. This group will be available for all levels with no specific race planned. The only goal is to keep running throughout the winter! Marathon Sports a New England based company has purchased all the stores from Jeanine Sylvester. Jeanine and I have been great friends for many years and I am happy for her and what this means as far as her success. What it means to the future as far as the running community is far from certain. We will continue to have a relationship with Runners Alley and hopefully little will change. I know that the stores will remain Runners Alley and all the great employees will stay. I am sure though that over time some things will change. Just strange to see a local fixture sold. Time to get along. Have a great finish to the rest of your week! God Bless! Mike
