Mid Week Coffee and Chat

Good morning! Nice to be Wednesday and almost half way through the week. The weekend took a lot out of me and looking forward to the weekend. Lots going on this week despite being done with my Portsmouth group. Last night at the Center I had a great time with a running form analysis and another very happy customer! It is almost a guarantee that every person that comes in for a running form (gait) analysis will come away totally blown away! Being able to see yourself run and have a professional help analyze it as well as give specific ways to improve your running really can make a huge difference. We have lots of fun with each analysis as they give us a chance to combine our knowledge of running form with our coaching to really help all types of runners. Nothing is more enjoyable than helping people improve upon their running. Last night was also a great opportunity to talk with an active 603 club runner and learn about the Rochester branch. Seeing the loud and proud number of 603 runners at Market Square Saturday is really impressive. 603 is quickly becoming the largest endurance club in New Hampshire. Looks like our NFLR Advance 10K training group will be a go! The start date will be July 7th and will run seven weeks bringing us to Saunders 10K. We will meet Tuesday nights and Saturday mornings with a plan to go to the track regularly as well as do some other strengthening stuff. This group will be a lot of fun and will definitely help those that are currently running at least 4 miles. More details forth coming but save that date! Don’t forget that we are moving our Pilates in the Park to 6pm tomorrow night. Hopefully this time will be better for those that work or are coming from further away. I can’t tell you how many people we have had in for a running form analysis that would be benefited by attending our Pilates. Most people we see don’t have much strength from the core down and that makes a huge difference in their running. Try to get over to Henry Law Park in Dover and find out why you should be doing Pilates! If you are not 100 percent satisfied I will gladly return your $10 drop in fee. Today will be kind of cool for me as this morning I am going up in a Blackhawk helicopter for a flight. It has been many, many years since I have been up in a helicopter so it should be lots of fun. Hopefully my IPhone will capture some nice pictures. Oh I almost forgot to mention that Monday I went down the Center and ran a 40 minute out and back on Spur Road. Besides feeling a little out of shape I was really pleased that my knee did okay and even handled a fairly decent pace. I will run again tonight with our NFLR training group and then again tomorrow and try for a fourth run on Saturday. If all of that is successful I will feel good about my progress. This past Monday morning I had my annual physical and after talking with my doctor I was more encouraged that the timeline for getting better seems to be in line with where I’m at. I am was also happy to get continued good news about my healthy. Between my running, green shakes and continued better eating habits the results have been great on my overall health. Time to get on the road and get this day started. It certainly looks like a great day ahead and hopefully it will be a good one for picture taking! I hope you enjoy the day and are in the midst of a great week! God Bless! Mike
