Road run!

I’m traveling this week and am at Joint Base Andrews or what use to be called Andrews AFB. Much like the Northeast, the weather was exceptionally nice, though windy. My training called for a 7 mile recovery run. Recovering from my 16 mile run on Saturday! I would like to say I ran by or around Air Force 1, but in all my visits to the home of AF 1, I honestly have never seen it when I was here. I have seen it at Pease a couple times, but never at its home. Anyhow, I set out for my run this morning and I can honestly say up until mile 6, I felt great! I did an out and back on the parameter of the base (Parameter road), and on the way back I found a trail and was able to run on it for a good mile or so. Everything felt pretty good and I started wondering if the weather had something to do with it!

This week is a pullback week, which means I will run 4, seven mile easy runs. Hopefully it will give my legs some rest for the following week when I move up to 18 miles as my long run. Ups and downs of running and right now seem like an up. Needn’t worry too much about over confidence on my part, but things are certainly better.

Tomorrow is a strength training day, so I will go over to the base gym and get a good workout in. Hopefully my schedule will allow for it, but my meetings can get long and make it hard to workout. The weather will be beautiful here all week, staying in the 70s. Be Well!
