New England Running

Good morning! Nice to moving along this week and headed to a long holiday weekend. No Finish Line Running won’t necessarily be taking any downtime over the Labor Day weekend, however it is nice to have a breather from our other responsibilities. This Saturday we will start off the long weekend with our regular 8:30 run from the NFLR Coaching & Endurance Resource Center and this is a great opportunity for anyone to come run with a great group. Doors open at 8am for stretching and chatting with the coach and then at 8:30, we run along the bay for up to 75 minutes. Really a great way to start your weekend! Tonight we will be down at the “7th Settlement Brewery” in Dover for a Pub Run at 6pm. This run is for all levels and we will run an easy 50 minutes around the perfect New England town. Yes Dover can be a very busy town but, it really is representative of a New England village with the old brick mills, quaint city center and many other New England charms. Portsmouth is an amazing place to run as it offers much charm as well along with being able to run along the water but, I really enjoy Dover for its more traditional New England feel. Portsmouth is definitely a busy tourist location and these days it is even difficult to find a parking spot, so Dover offers a wonderful place to run as well as some nice hills. We have a lot of fun on Wednesday nights running and then some stay around and enjoy dinner or a drink after. Come on out tonight and enjoy what looks to be a beautiful evening. Tomorrow night (Thursday) is another opportunity to join us at the NFLR Center at 6pm, where we will run an easy 60 minutes (or less if you like) along the bay. Thursday’s is our “Destination Race” training group run night but, anyone is welcome to join us. While we are training a group to either run the White Mountain Miler’s half marathon or split it in half as a relay, we also welcome drop-ins that want to enjoy an evening run along the bay. Again this is a great run for all levels and we definitely have runners of all levels, so it is easy to find a runner or two that will run at your pace. Because this is an out and back runners have no pressure to get a certain distance but, instead just run their pace and end up back at the Center at the same time as everyone else. Healthier and much more enjoyable way to run with a group. So there you have it, an opportunity to enjoy multiple opportunities of running in a small traditional New England village. What a wonderful blessing it is to be able to enjoy New England by foot with some great people! We truly have a great time each time we get together and not only do something fun but, something that is second to none when it comes to your health. I hope you take advantage of these opportunities or one of the many others that are out there around the area. Running this time of year is so truly amazing! Have a great day and God Bless! Mike
