NFLR Adds Another Personal Trainer!

Good morning!

Hope everyone got up like me at 2am and turned back their clocks, otherwise you will be at church an hour early. Not a fan of losing daylight earlier at the end of the day. For us runners, it means getting those headlamps and reflective vest out.

This past Tuesday I passed the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer certification test. I started the course back in January and I feel like I may have taken longer than any other first-time tester to get prepared. After 151 questions and nearly 3 hours of testing, I was drained and doubtful that my score would make the necessary cut, but thankfully, I passed. ACE is one of the leading personal training entities in the business, and I am proud to join my wife Kathleen, as a certified personal trainer.

I have long studied functional strength training and have espoused the importance of the importance it to those runners that come to NFLR for help with their running. That is why when Kathy received her ACE personal training certification, I was thrilled that NFLR now had a trained personal trainer on our team. Following in Kathy’s shoes, and joining her as a ACE personal trainer, I plan to further develop NFLR as a running business that helps runners become stronger, more functional, run more efficient and further minimize injuries.

Kathy continues to study day and night as she works toward her degree in Exercise Science, while I continue to further my education in both exercise science and running (currently finishing my RRCA Level II running coach certification). I am excited that NFLR continuously develops our ability to help runners of all levels through education and our years of experience. As I chatted about a few weeks ago, many are getting into the coaching business without actually doing anything more than using internet based training programs and that is not coaching. NFLR is a team of coaches that are trained in personal coaching and our continuous education, will insure that we provide coaching that is personal and effective. Adding educated personal trainers will only help our personal coaching that much more!

Have a great Sunday and be safe on those late day runs!

God Bless!

Mike
