NFLR From the South!

Good morning! This morning I am sipping coffee and chatting from Pinehurst North Carolina. Been a journey to finally get here and be able to say that it is not a visit. Certainly departing from New Hampshire has some great sadness but, thanks to NFLR and my family, New Hampshire will most definitely be a second home. Pinehurst is a beautiful area and having been a part from my wife for a good part of 18 months has not been fun. So, yesterday I had coffee with a client at 7am, chatted with Jason from Penny U. Coffee house and then jumped in the my old green truck and headed south. Around 11:30 last night I pulled in and was greeted by Ole Roy and then the welcoming arms of my beautiful bride. Been a busy week but, an awesome one. Started out the week meeting with a crazy woman that has more races on her schedule than a professional. We had some fun doing a gait analysis and 3 hours later NFLR had a challenging new client! No fear, we are use to working with crazy runners and most of the time we are successful in helping create a little sanity with their running. Wednesday morning I had a consultation with a couple that was so enjoyable that had we all had the time we could have talked for hours! Truly a delightful couple that came in with the intentions of one them getting some regular coaching and both wanting a running form analysis. When we got toward the end of our conversation, both wanted our coaching services! My intent in life is never ever to be a salesman and I make that disclaimer during every consultation. However, once we get talking about the science of running and NFLR’s “Intelligent Training” and add in the passion, people tend to want to be a part of what we are doing. I guess some might consider it salesmanship but, we honestly never try to sell people on our services but, we love talking about running and why our approach matters. We truly seek to help people figure out what works for them and it that is just a good conversation about things that will help their running and they leave without spending a penny, so be it. The running community we are building in New Hampshire and hopefully beyond is unique and special. Between our Dover training groups, our corporate training and our individual clients, we are approaching running as something beyond a finish line result. Instead we are building a community of runners that are strong, healthy and most of all run with an incredible joy. This combination provides the greatest likelihood that people will run for many many years. Our Dover Community training group is still open for anyone interested in joining us. We meet tomorrow at 8am from the NFLR Center and then again Wednesday evening at 6pm from the “7th Settlement Brewery” in Dover. We have multiple coaches to help beginners through intermediate so no matter what level you are at, you most likely will enjoy being a part! I of course will be part of the team but, from afar. I will certainly make a few runs in the future and look forward to it! Have a great Friday and get out and run! God Bless! Mike
