Not Finished Yet!

Good morning and happy Friday! Grab your mug and pull up a chair. With Thanksgiving having past, along with all the various Turkey Trots the race season has pretty much winded down. There is still a few races scattered around the Seacoast but, for the most part the Christmas season now dominates the weekend activities. For me, I still have 2 events left before I am done for the year. Tomorrow morning I will be in Aberdeen North Carolina with Kathy running the Reindeer Fun Run 12K. This is a 100 percent charity event and should be a lot of fun to run. This will also be our first local race in North Carolina so, it should be a great experience. They give out antlers to all runners and chances are they won’t last long my head! The second event I have left is a little more off beat as a week from tomorrow (December 12th) I will be paying off a bet by dawning a somewhat skimpy (and tight) bathing suit to run the “Santa Claus Shuffle.” A while back I detailed the wager that has put me in this situation and I won’t bore you with the details again but, nevertheless my good friend Art Hotchthurn suggested this worthwhile event as a way for me to not only cover my bet but, to help some young boys and girls as well. Basically next Saturday I will put on a rather festive and small bathing suit and run a mile through Boston. Besides my running shoes, the bathing suit will be the only thing I will be wearing and that is not a vision anyone wants to have! However, for multiple reasons there will be pictures available, with one reason being my proof to Art but, another reason will be for blackmail. I am prepared to start distributing close up photos of yours truly in a not so proud moment to all my friends. If you go to: http://ssrunners.org/donate.asp and donate as little as $5, I will leave you off my mailing list. Your donation will benefit young boys and girls and also protect you from seeing more of me than you would like. No doubt with social media there will be available pictures but, that will be far less gory than an up close picture. Seriously (if that is possible), if you would consider going to: http://ssrunners.org/donate.asp and donating a few dollars be great and would help me feel better about running through Boston looking like an idiot! Have a great Friday and a super weekend! God Bless! Mike
