October and NFLR

Good morning! Wow, October is here and fall is moving at warp speed! Crazy how life seems to get away from us sometimes and no matter what we do we can’t seem to slow it down. Personally I am moving along through my final months in the Air National Guard and while I am eager to get to that final day, I am also trying to slow down things as well. Staying busy between the base and the running world is most certainly the culprit and it would be difficult to slow down, so I am trying to make the most out of every single day and not take any one of them for granted. Things at No Finish Line Running continue to change with each passing month. October brought an end to our Tuesday night track workouts as well as our Monday morning runs. The track workouts were a lot of fun and beneficial for all those that came out. With the end of the track workouts we are no longer competing with our very own Pilates class that is also on Tuesday nights at 6pm. Now you can take advantage of Pilates at the Center on Tuesday nights and the month of October is free! After that the drop in will be $10 which is still an awesome deal for such a valuable class. Be sure to get there early as the class can only accommodate so many people. Pilates is a must do for all runners or even just those that want to have greater strength and stability. For those of you that want to continue running with our groups we are at the 7th Settlement Brewery every Wednesday at 6pm for a 50 to 60 minute run and Saturday mornings you can join us from the Center at 8:30am for whatever distance works for you. All great options. Winter is very much a four letter word but, it will be here and the typical thing we here the most is: “How can I stay running through the winter?” Last winter we had a nice size group of runners in our first NFLR Winter Running group and this year we will be there for you again! Staying pretty much with Wednesday’s and Saturday mornings, we will lead you right through the winter. We are working on the details and will get them out soon. No reason to lose momentum! We are looking for volunteers Sunday October 18th out at Pease and around Newington. If you would like to come out between the hours of 7:30am and 1:30pm, we have an annual relay race for military members and their families that I am the race director for. This event is in its 7th year and is a lot of fun for our military members, their families and those that volunteer. Volunteers get great shirts and can enjoy the post-race celebration as well. Please let me know if you would like to come out and volunteer your time and show your appreciation for those that serve you. Great event! Time to get along to the base for the day. Hope you are having a great weekend and I’ll see you on the roads! God Bless!
