One of my favorite day's

Good morning!

Fill your coffee mug up and pull up a chair. I absolutely love this time of year and these holidays that are now upon us. For me, the day before Thanksgiving and Christmas are really special in that I enjoy the time of warmth and love of being with someone I love so dearly. Tomorrow, is special, because it is an opportunity to celebrate and give thanks for all the blessings that I have in abundance. But the day before has always been a special time for me. I hope that today you can relax some and enjoy some special time with someone special.

For me, the holiday season begins a period of enjoying some indulgence, but also some increased discipline in my workouts. I will hopefully enjoy some great food and deserts, but I also plan to work hard at my training. I am not necessarily hoping to counter the sweets with my workouts, but it will certainly help my body to feel better about the indulgence. I do not think that this time a year is meant to be about food and sweets, but it certainly is part of the enjoyment and I allow myself to partake somewhat responsibly. If anything, my enjoyment of all the wonderful foods and treats, drives me to be more disciplined with my workouts.

Yesterday was a nice easy run at an 11 minute pace. While it started out not so great, my middle miles were wonderful. The temperature was a perfect 60 degrees and thanks to an easy pace, I got to enjoy the Christmas music I played on my iPhone. For some reason, a few years ago I downloaded a couple Trans-Siberian CD’s to my iPhone and it seems like every other song of my shuffled Christmas music was by them. I can’t say that their Christmas music is my favorite, so I have to do some work on my iTunes.

Today is strength training day and thanks to conversations with Kathy and Ideafit, I feel really good about my workout. While I have learned a lot through getting my ACE personal trainer certification, Kathy has become such a great resource for developing functional strength. Together, along with the Ideafit website, I have been able to build a functional strength training plan that I continuously improve upon. Great to have all the resources!

Time to get along. I hope you have a wonderful day today and an even more wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. I am no I am thankful for so much and many of my blessing are those of you that I am lucky enough to call “a friend.” Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless!

Mike
