Quick Interval Friday's

Good morning! I must say that getting out of bed this morning, was pretty difficult. It is not often that my alarm clock ever goes off, but this morning it did. Thankfully my coffee is strong! Anyhow let's get moving. Beautiful weekend ahead for running, the weather looks ideal. The Stratham Fair kicked off yesterday and along with that is the annual 5.7 mile road race. I have run this particular race a couple times and while it is a challenging course, it's a great race. If you don't want to run the full race, find a partner and you can split the distance as a two person relay. Last winter the Portsmouth Herald did a story on myself and NFLR and this week the same writer as if I would be willing to be a contributor to his regular running column with running advice. My regular "coffee and chat" followers will probably recognize some of the material as I will cheat somewhat by using some of the pieces of I have written here in the past. Next week I am going to steal my own material on running in the heat so that will be a copulation of writings I have already done. Hopefully they have a good editor at the Herald! Pretty cool! My wife bribed me to go ahead and run the Pease 7K this Sunday out at the Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth/Newington. I haven't really wanted to run in many races with the different injuries I have been dealing with, but I will go and run and easy fun race. This race is organized by the New Hampshire Air National Guard and raises money for such events as the "Pease Kid Corps, Make A Wish". Yesterday was a great example as we had 8 children that are suffering from terminal illness come out to Pease and spend the day experiencing the "Air Force". We all lined up in the morning as they came through our front gate and have all the children high five's as they walked by us. After that they all jump on fire trucks and begin their adventurous day. Truly a special event for these kids and while my heart goes out to them, I am thrilled that they get to experience something they wish to do. So if you aren't busy on Sunday and want to run a race, come join me! I am always interested in which races are people's favorites and why? Take a moment to leave a comment below if you would sharing which race is your favorite and why? I kind of push the York Days 5K for two reasons, one because it is great course to run, but mostly because I see so many runners that I have worked with over the years and that's really cool. So please tell me what your favorite race is? Well it is time to get moving and get to the gym. Today I will choose an elliptical that is no where near the TV that is showing "Hanging with the Kardashian's"! Oh my gosh! Have a great Friday! Mike
