Reds Shoe Barn training

Good morning! Nice to be half way through the week, but the pressure of Christmas is growing greater and greater with each passing day. Hopefully you are further ahead of your shopping than I am and trust me; that wouldn’t take much! If you have any great ideas, please feel free to leave them below in the comments box. How’s your running going? I can honestly say that this particular December would not be a good one if not for the NFLR Winter Running group. Monday I did get up and went running with my wife Kathy and Cindy at 5:30am. Despite being wildly early, the run was awesome and much needed. In my opinion, nothing can beat running in the early morning when the world around you is still sleeping or just waking. This particular run like many runs in Dover featured quite a few hills and I felt pretty good so I was pleased with that. One of the future additions to the website will hopefully be a community board where people can stop in and post information about a planned run and others will see and hook up with them. I know my wife, Cindy and a couple others have been running pretty regularly in Dover and joining them would be a great way to get you out the door on a cold morning. Even the best of us can use accountability partners from time to time. Still not too late to join our No Finish Line Running Winter Running group in Dover. In fact we have yet to officially start winter so you would not have missed any winter running! Now the group actually has a planned race that we are targeting as well! Last Saturday while we were running one of the runners talked about the ‘Reds Shoe Barn” 5 miler and how most of our runs so far had been on the course used for “Reds.” It was then suggested that our group should all do that race together and I thought that was pure genius! So come to either “Juicy Roots” on Saturday at 8:30am or “7th Settlement Brewery” on Tuesdays at 6pm and enjoy a great group of people that happen to like to run and train for a race! We just welcome a new member to the group who is actually “new” to running. Mary Jalbert has just recently moved to the area and thought joining the group would be a great way to become a runner and meet people. How cool is that and I am excited to have Mary joining us! Sorry I cannot sit and chat longer but I need to move along. See you on Friday for our weekly quick intervals! Mike
