A little over an hour ago, my wife Kathleen and I came across the finish line at the White Mountain Half Marathon. Kathleen actually finished considerably ahead of me and I have nothing but admiration for her. This was our first half marathon race in almost 3 years and quite honestly time was of little importance to me. My running has been far from race condition, but being out there was lots of fun! While physically I battled a few things, it there was any disappointment it was that mentally I was not as strong as I had been. Nevertheless I am thrilled to have run this beautiful race and I highly recommend it to every runner. Beautiful course with much scenery to enjoy on roads that we mostly drive on when we are up here. The participation is not in the thousands, but there was a nice amount of runners. If you are looking for a half marathon for 2015, this is definitely one to consider. The burnt orange shirt that we were given is awesome and very fall like. Now we are focusing on the final 2 weeks of preparation for our Seacoast Half Marathon runners and that is definitely shaping up well. All of our runners are ready and now we just have to get them strong and rested. Looks like we have finalized the winter running group. We will be meeting Tuesday nights and Saturday morning in Dover. Tuesday's will most likely be at a local pub while Saturday's will be at Juicy Roots on 3rd street. We will train whoever wants to prepare for the "Half at the Hamptons" in February and we will also have a plan for those that just want to run through the winter. Both groups of people will get a nice running top and coach led training. There will be two different fees, but they will be small compared to what you will get. Be sure to let us know if you are interested? Time to relax! So proud of my wife! Mike
