Sunday is recovery day!

Good morning! Today's weather doesn't appear to show the promise of the week that just proceeded us. Being spoiled as we have so far this fall, makes it difficult to enjoy a day that looks to bring rain. Hopefully those running the Smuttynose half and full marathons will have comfortable running weather. One of my favorite people, Nicole Spirito is running the marathon and I wish her the best of luck! Nicole is a great runner and a fantastic person. She helps my wife and I coach our current half marathon group and her youthful energy is amazing and refreshing. I know she has been sick since late last week so I hope that doesn't factor in. Have fun Nicole! Did you see our home page? What did you think? Yes we have client sign in pages but don't feel left out! We will continue to work to provide all runners with great and helpful material. Client sign-in is a service that NFLR needed and welcomed for those that desired personal training. With this improvement we can offer anyone that desires some level of personal training that meets their particular needs. Many ask me what our personal coaching rates are and that's a difficult question to give a quick answer too. NFLR is different from most, because we offer customized personal training, we don't have a set rate. Instead we offer free consultations and then determine a monthly rate that fits the individuals needs. Recently I learned what DIY (A do it yourself person) meant and this DIY person didn't necessarily require some of the same services as some others do. Don't every rule out getting help with your running because you fear the cost, but instead consider a free consultation to find out what works for you. Another huge piece on the front page is the announcement that in November "Gait Analysis" is coming to New Hampshire and the Seacoast! This is truly exciting for runners of all levels as no longer will they have to travel to far off locations such as Boston to get their running gait analyzed. Being able to analyze your running gait provides the opportunity to improve running efficiency, detect gait flaws that may eventually lead to injury and find root causes for a current injuries. My goal is to get people in for an analysis before an injury occurs and hopefully detect any flaw that might prevent a potential injury. Being able to see a runner frame by frame looking at them from head to toe is the only way to analyze their form. Not only will we analyze your gait, but we will also give you some exercises to try to correct any flaws. So start planning now to get your gait looked at and analyzed. You may be currently be injury free but remember 82 percent of runners get injured, so think preemptive and have your gait analyzed! Bringing gait analysis to New Hampshire and the Seacoast has been goal of mine for a couple of years and I'm thrilled to finally be able to offer it! So there's lots going on with NFLR! Oh yeah, today is also NFLR Newsletter day, so be sure to sign up on the homepage to receive your free biweekly NFLR newsletter. The newsletter is an great addition to NFLR that I am tremendously proud of and offers good stuff to runners of all levels. This is addition number 7 I believe and it's well worth checking out. Well my coffee cup is empty so I will say so long for now. I hope you get on the road this week and log some miles in. Runners truly get it! mike
