Sunday morning chat

Good morning! Pull up a chair, fill up your favorite mug and enjoy the warmth of the smooth hot coffee. Nothing like sipping mug of coffee on a cold winter day. Coffee might be helpful in awakening me, but the pure enjoyment of sipping a cup of good coffee is why I drink it. With only a few days before the ribbon cutting ceremony for the “NFLR Coaching & Endurance Resource Center”, things are certainly crazy! We continue to develop a plan that will probably evolve right up until we open the doors to the public next Saturday. The tough part of it all is that we are trying to maintain a balance in the room of useful tools while trying to keep open space for the various classes that we will be conducting. Beginning in week one we will be hosting a runners Pilates class for our NFLR Winter Running group and in the weeks to follow we will be running some free Pilates classes for all runners. Jasmin Lapir will be also conducting small group strength and conditioning classes pretty quickly so floor space is definitely important. However we have lots of tools that require space so managing our nice amount of space will be challenging. Hopefully good organizing skills will allow for us to have as much equipment as necessary while allowing for plenty of room for holding classes. Last week we got some great exposure from Rob Levy at the Portsmouth Herald and if you did not happen to read the story, check out the home page of our website. Rob is one of the better local runners as well as a great writer and he has done a couple of stories on NFLR and even utilized a couple reprinted “Coffee and Chat’s with the Coach.” There was some discussion about bringing in a radio station for the opening, but thankfully that idea did not come to pass. This grand opening is about the public seeing what we are all about and while we want to as many people as possible to know we are there, somehow I think radio might be too much at this point. As it is we will have food, prizes, gifts, demonstrations and a staff of highly qualified trainers and coaches on hand. Sorry no clowns or someone making balloon animals, unless one of you fellow coffee drinkers wants to come in and blow up some balloons and make a wiener dog. Well friends it will be quiet a busy week for me and the NFLR team. We have lots of work to do between now and Saturday but we will be ready open our doors to the Seacoast and provide all the resources runners and endurance athletes need from beginners through competitive athletes. I am excited and a little over whelmed, but I am ready! For today I have to go back to the base and deal with the final day of an inspection. Have a great Sunday and congratulations to the Patriots and their fans for a great comeback yesterday! God Bless! Mike
