Sunday morning coffee and chat

Good morning! Grab some hot coffee and pull up a chair.
With fall officially here I will finally it is safe to say that the mornings and evenings will see much cooler temperatures. Being here in New Hampshire it is certainly nippy this morning with my temperature reading 39 degree in my old truck. Yikes! Should be a bit chilly waiting for the start of the “Seacoast Cancer 5K” in a couple hours but, perfect running weather once we are moving. Certainly when I had back south in a week I will see those temperatures rise nicely. I enjoy both climates but am looking forward to getting back to our southern home.
Yesterday our “No Finish Line Running” destination training group ran 110 minutes, our longest run so far. Between the perfect temperature and the now changing foliage, the run was nearly perfect. This group has been our best training group as of yet both numerically as well as enthusiastically. It is so cool to see people hang together with no one running by themselves in most cases. I posted a blurb yesterday that said something to the affect: “If you have not done an NFLR training group, you are missing out on the best training group available to you.” I have been doing this training group stuff for many years now and my goal to use our experience to provide the best possible training and with our team, we are doing just that. There are some clubs out there that certainly provide opportunities to congregate and run as a group however, we combine variables such as structured training, professionally designed run plans and personal strength improvement. We then make sure every level of runner is considered and getting the most out of their training. All said our training groups are the healthiest way to train while have a blast!
This week will be filled with preparation for the “Apple Harvest 5K” and also our transition our some of our Center operations from Dover to Portsmouth. However in between I have some time to chat and sip coffee with anyone that might be around Dover. My office for such chat and coffee is Penny University Coffee House and it could not be more perfect for chatting about running. So either drop me a note, Facebook message or just stop in. We can talk about your running, your goals or anything you want.
As I chatted about Friday, we will be moving some our operations from the Center in Dover to downtown Portsmouth. Teaming with a physical therapist has been a goal of mine for many years and now the opportunity has presented itself and I am really excited. It is bittersweet in that we will close the Center in Dover but the ability to offer runners even more is important to us. I was asked if this move will affect our Dover operations and it most definitely will not. We will continue to base our training groups out of Dover as well as partner with this great community for many running related initiatives. Expanding to Portsmouth only makes sense as we also will be able to centralize some of our resources at a great location. Pretty exciting to be part of “NFLR”!
Next Saturday “NFLR” will be directing and producing the 2016 “Apple Harvest 5K”. It will be a wonderful race for us and all the runners. Get signed up and join us for what we hope will be a long term partnership between NFLR and Dover. Great prizes and the perfect setting for a fall race. Hope to see you there!
Time to get ready to support the battle against cancer on the Seacoast. Hope you have a great Sunday and see you on the roads!
God Bless!
Mike
