Taking stock over coffee

Happy Fathers Day to all you Dad's out there! I take the role of being a Father very important and though my kids are grown, I still believe it to be important. Now it's more about allowing my children to make their own decision and hope that I helped with that process somewhere along the way. Yesterday's 10 mile run gave me a weeks total of 28, my best week in some time. This morning my legs feel okay so going into a new week of running should be even better. My opinion of the Asic 33s is still a ways off because my body is still adjusting. It would be easy to say that I don't like them right now because of the various aches that have occurred since running in them, but losing the padded heal will be an adjustment that may take time for my body to accept. That's not to say my running gate will work with a "Zero Drop" shoe, but I am certainly going to try and find out. Yesterdays run was in my Asics Nimbus and I will say that the bottoms of my feet like the additional padding a great deal more. While that is nice, it's not really a factor as my feet should adjust to less padding in time. What are "Zero Drops"? They are part of the current evolution that came out of the barefoot running movement. The term "minimalist" is the most common right now and it is somewhat of a compromise between actual barefoot running and traditional running shoes. I continue to read everything I can related to healthy running and the effects of what the various shoes we wear or in some cases don't wear? It's definitely a difficult subject as there are many different angles and lots of money to be made. Understanding that we are somewhat driven by the shoe industry telling us what we need makes it difficult to know what we need? I am right there, but I am trying to learn all there is to know and even test drive the various shoes based on what I read. I have a duo purpose as I want to help myself and those that come to NFLR. Keep coming back for more! Hope you have a great Sunday and remember; I like my coffee black!
