The Future NFLR-NH
Sunday, January 31, 2016 · Mike Davis
Good morning! Grab your coffee and pull up a chair. Last day of January! I am actually at my home, in Pinehurst, North Carolina for the weekend; hanging out with my wife. It is nice to have the chance to enjoy our home that we built, as well as the beautiful area of Pinehurst in general. Many of you know of our plans to relocate to North Carolina and expand “No Finish Line Running” to this area while still maintaining our NFLR presence in New Hampshire and the Seacoast area. A very challenging goal for sure as it will require a total team effort as well as strategic planning. This has been at the forefront of my time for the past year, despite my crazy life around me. For those around me on a regular basis, I have often been asked what the plan is for NFLR- NH when Kathy and I ultimately relocate to the location we picked out nearly 10 years ago. The answer has squarely always been to build a strong NH organization and a team that could sustain the operation, while also developing the business model for a NFLR-NC. With the passing of another month and my retirement from the New Hampshire Air National Guard being at the end of April, the time for branching out is fast approaching! Much is still to be determined about my non-running choices but, thankfully NFLR-NH and NFLR-NC are in much less flux. The challenge has been that for over 5 years Mike Davis has been the face of “No Finish Line Running” on the Seacoast. Now that we have developed a strong team of professional certified coaches that totally represent the NFLR values; I may still be the face of the company but, this team is more than ready and capable to cover the Seacoast while Kathy and I establish NFLR-NC. My daughter Jennifer has been involved with just about every aspect of NFLR since its inception and she totally lives and breathes the core values of the business. Lew Ricker has been deeply involved with establishing our local running groups, our corporate program and many of our other initiatives. Over the past couple of years we have added Meghan and Kate to the team and of course our superstar Doug Mackinnon. All said, we have developed a great team on the Seacoast that I am proud of and have no doubt will continue to develop NFLR-NH. Does this mean Kathy and I will disappear from New Hampshire and the Seacoast? Not a chance, and the ultimate goal is for at least one of us to be in New Hampshire each month. Monthly visits probably won’t be necessary but, a great excuse to come back and see our friends and family. Our project will be to introduce NFLR to North Carolina; unfortunately, without having the friends we had in New Hampshire to help us get started. Definitely a different challenge for us but, one we are eager to begin the process of. The idea of NFLR at multiple locations has always been my dream and now it is closer than ever! Pretty exciting times for all of us at NFLR and I believe that we are going to only get better in all ways! Hope you enjoyed a peak into where NFLR is headed. Have a great Sunday and we look forward to seeing you on the road! God Bless! Mike
