Not completely healthy, but anxious to lace up my brand new Asic Nimbus 13s, I set out around 8:45 this morning. The temperature read 2 degrees, but not much wind, so I was okay. Started out easy, running a 9:22 first mile and my second mile was around 8:40, so I guess I was doing okay. Then I became a bit sluggish alternating between feeling okay and feeling weak. I tried to focus on my form and foot strike between mile 3 and 6. As some of you probably attest to, I land pretty heavy on my feet and my goal is to be lighter on my size 13s. Hopefully lighter will lead to less impact on the rest of my body. Anyhow, I continued on running my normal route which is Washington, to Arch, to Sliver, left through Garrison school, right on Rutland, barring right onto Cateract, then a left on Bellamy St, a left on 108 and then I jump on Main St through downtown Dover and grab 6th st. up to Grover where I go left, then a few feet later, I go right on 4th St. and follow all the way to Washington, where I turn left and then right back into our cul-de-sac.
The final mile was challenging, but I hung in there and got my 6.5 miles in. My body is still far from 100 percent so the rest of the day was nothing but sitting on the couch! I did some stretching, but that was about it. Hopefully tomorrow brings improved health as I will be back out there for another 6.5 mile run. The life of a runner!
