The Perfect Day!

Back at it today with a little help from my partner and wife. We started a bit late, but Justin, Kathy and I headed out with the plan being they run 4 and I continue on to do my 7 miles. The pace was a planned slow easy run with my partners and after that I wasn’t really sure what I would do.

We enjoyed our easy 2 miles, Justin and I talking while Kathy informed Justin that she would not be talking. We got to mile 2 and Kathy stopped to stretch her hip, Justin ran a bit with me before giving me a hug and parting ways. Okay, we didn’t really hug, but just said have fun to each other and parted ways. I felt pretty good and I slowly sped up as I continued on, going from 10:35 pace to 8:20 at best. I am not doing a great job of running as slow overall as I should, but I’m not pushing hard either.

I feel like I’m getting stronger, so that’s hopefully a good sign. My strategy to build my base is a bit different than my past training and I am unsure if it will give me the results I hoping for. I’m still fearful of what will come with the run in excess of 13 miles. My previous training hit some serious bumps so I knew this attempt would have to be approached differently. I have already run more miles than ever before and I believe I’m getting stronger.

Good day today, did some strength training in the morning, had a fun run in the afternoon and feel great! The perfect day! Tomorrow will be a new day.

Cheers!
