Volunteer!
Wednesday, May 15, 2013 · Mike Davis
If you are going to be around Portsmouth Memorial Day weekend, they are looking for volunteers for the Redhook 5K race. This race is a staple in the running community and raises a great deal of needed money for Krempels Center, a very special organization that benefits those with brain trauma. Personally I forgo running this race to help in any way they will allow me. The past few I have been put in charge of the race course and so far I haven't screwed it up. I find this experience to be not only gratifying but one of my favorite events. Like many people I would like to run the Seacoast series, but between my weekend work schedule and volunteering for this race it is very difficult to run the required races. This does not change my mind one bit about volunteering as I get far more satisfaction out of helping support Krempels and the great people at Runners Alley than I do from getting a jacket! So if you are going to be around Memorial weekend and want to help a great cause; contact Stephanie Carnignan at stephanie@runnersalley.com. Hope to see you there running or working out!
