Wednesday morning coffee
Wednesday, August 28, 2013 · Mike Davis
5:30am and rearing to go! Not so much, but hopefully after this cup of coffee I will be. Trying to get back into my routine but seems as if my tiredness is trying to de-motivate me (is that a word?). This week is a four day work week at the base thanks to the coming Labor Day so I am grateful for that. Though I have a PT appointment on Friday morning at 7:30 so I won't be sleeping in despite being off. Still, it will be good to have Friday off. This week has been a typical week for me and NFLR, Monday I met with a new client at the track, last night team training and tonight I will be back at the track. Tonight's meeting will be important as my runner seems to have a mystery injury that came out of nowhere and I have cut back her training considerably but the results haven't been as successful as I would like. Sometimes trying to figure out an injury is a challenge and even a trip to her doctor did not help figure it out. I will spend some of my day trying to figure it out, but tonight will be my first opportunity to see her since this started. Frustrating is the only way to describe these type setbacks. Next week we are going to begin a series on each running muscle, discussing the significance of that muscle to runners along with how to strengthen it and how to stretch it properly. Knowing how are muscles affect our running is critical to our approach and most importantly to our running gait. I am excited at this piece and believe it will provide valuable help to all the readers. Did you read this past Sunday's NFLR Newsletter? Oh my goodness, it may have been the best yet! Really if you didn't read it, check it out! I am really pleased at this addition to NFLR and the fact that you can get a free newsletter that is not a bunch of advertisements is really great! Though if you would like to advertise in our newsletter, let us know! :) I have 3 minutes before I have to start my morning workout so I have to finish this cup of black coffee and get rolling. Enjoy your day and thanks for having coffee with me!
