Sunday Chat

Good morning!

Last week I traveled up north to Lincoln New Hampshire to meet up with a client who had been training solely online to this point. While I like the flexibility of being able to coach people online, I truly enjoy when I get to sit with them and talk running. While traveling to Lincoln is a bit of a drive, I could not help but enjoy the north country. Kathy and I camped up in Lincoln a few years ago with Roy when he was a puppy and it was a lot of fun.

Our professional personal training system allows us to coach runners effectively without any distance limitations. Whether in person, over the phone, or through email, we gather all the same details that allow for us to accurately design a professional training plan for the runner. What makes our personal coaching unique, is that we have a running plan development system that combines science-based training with the skills of a trained running coach.

Our training plan development system is a tool developed by No Finish Line Running and is result of many years of working with runners. NFLR has been blessed to have a group of diverse coaches that have various skillsets. On our staff we not only have a group of certified running coaches, but we also have certified personal trainers (ACE), Fitness Nutrition (ACE), and Essential Elements of Running (gait analysis) through the Association of Clinical Excellence. These skills bring together a unique opportunity to coach runners not only succeed, but to do it healthy and happy!

Whether we work with a runner online or in person, we utilize the same skills that take into account the individuals goals, challenges, running level and other important details. With these details we combine our knowledge with our unique training development system to create a truly unique training plan for runners of all levels.

Which is better: Online coaching versus In-person coaching?

I enjoyed the drive to Lincoln last week and it was a lot of fun to chat with the client face to face. However, thanks to technology, we have been successful in helping many runners that we have never been in the same location. Our goal is to use our unique training development program to provide “personal coaching” to any runner (or want to be runner), regardless of their location.

Have a great week and make sure you come back Tuesday for Part II on my series on “Functional Movement.” I will be talking about the importance of the foot and the big toe.

God Bless!

Mike
